The Gateway Community was planned and executed for a private commercial client. Completed in 2000, Gateway is a community planned to augment its member’s desire for an integrated lifestyle and a serene living environment. Retail, residential and work opportunities are thoughtfully located around the headwaters of Battle Creek Lake. The wetlands, ponds and creeks create a natural buffer between uses that are knit together by a trail system. The trail allows residents to move between home, work and play without ever getting into their automobile.
