The Beard Group Inc. was retained by an affiliated private entity to search out and shape the realization of a “life cycle” residential community with adjacent commercial/industrial enterprises i.e. “mixed use.” The vision called for a continuum of housing that begins with shared-asset starter housing; continues through single family residences and concludes with housing appropriate to the active senior. The northwest metro was targeted and 670 acres of raw land in Hassan, MN was ultimately procured and authorized.

Stones Throw will afford its residents and patrons the serene beauty of woodlands with easy access to the abundance of products and services on and around the I 94 west corridor. A master plan is underway and groundbreaking is targeted for spring of 2007.

Property/Site

634 total acres of raw land with 220 acres expressly reserved for the preservation of the site’s natural and ecological appeal e.g. 20 acres of Great North Hard Woods timberland. The site is located at I 94 & Brockton Lane/ MN 101 in Hassan Township, MN.

Project Information

Master develop and plan for approximately 1,500 homes and 2 million square feet of market appropriate industrial and/or commercial facilities. The mix will include shared-asset units and conventional single family residences in proportions that establish a strong sense of community for all.
